The DAC connects deaf and hard-of-hearing people with options to enhance their independence. We facilitate communication between deaf persons and their service provider request. In addition, we also provide information and education to clients and the larger community regarding legislated rights and privileges of persons who are deaf or hard-of-hearing. We teach clients about their rights to provide certified and qualified professional sign language interpreters as well as information related to the deaf. Not only does this address a vital need for persons who are deaf, but it also assists service providers in complying with the current legislation requiring equal accessibility to deaf consumers.
